Permalinks in Wordpress

I am in the process of migrating my WP site into the WP-Joomla component. It's going well except for the permalinks, I noticed it was missing from the install.

For SEO purposes I need to keep the same URL structure as my previous site so I don't have to wait for a google cycle or upset other sites that have bookmarked my pages.

Does anyone know how I can achieve this or know of any alternative?

We are working to get the WordPress permalink structure to work with Joomla.

Hey guys,

We just released a new version of WP, 2.6.5.2

It has a much better linking structure, but its still not integrated into wordpress permalinks to use those dynamic links, but it is on the works, and will probably be out once we release 2.7
