From reading this board it looks like I need to purchase jPhoto (billed annually), and then cancel my subscription to avoid paying a recurring cost? That seems very odd! What is the purpose of billing someone annually in the first place? What would that person be receiving that is different from someone who cancelled their subscription straight away?

Also, is there anywhere I can try out the admin panel? I want to purchase it for a client, but I need to make sure the backend is user friendly enough.

Thanks!

All of our subscriptions are yearly subscriptions. After the subscription is up you will not receive updates to the product or support for the product.

You can demo the product at http://jphoto.corephpdemos.com

Ok thanks. Just a suggestion, I think the wording should be altered on the purchase page because it gives the impression that you must pay $30 every year for the product! Maybe there should be two options, first option $30 once-off payment and receive updates for 1 year, or second option $30 recurring payment and receive updates for as long as subscription is active.

You might be losing some customers with the default $30/year and no notice that it can be cancelled etc. Looks like good software though, I am going to give it a shot :)
