Having now spent nearly a week installing the corephp WordPress component I have to ask "Why bother?"

At a cost of $US 89, I have a WordPress/Joomla hybrid that I cannot seem to completely, finally install.

Trivial things such as widgets in sidebars don't work as per the documentation. No clear explanation of the delineation between things that are Joomla-controlled versus WP-controlled exists. The WP component does not allow WP plugins to be used, in fact has had its "Install" capability removed.

And I'm expected to pay an additional fee to "upgrade" to WP 3.0 to gain some of the standard features that have been deleted.

If I weren't on deadline I would remove this component and install a complete WordPress site in a sub-directory of my Joomla install; I can see NO ADVANTAGE to this hybrid of the two, and there a clearly several disadvantages.

Perhaps this page will clarify some of the advantages. If you have any specific issues that you're having trouble working through, feel free to contact us as that $89 that you paid is for the product as well as its support.

Kindest Regards,
Andy
