Hi - Is there any way, without resorting to an external link, to create a link to a specific wordpress category?
Thanks,
Jim

jedeistein,

As of right now there isn't, and currently we are working on a solution for this, which will either integrate wordpress categories to joomla categories so that this can be done, or some other work around.

Hi
Just want few clarifications,
1)Since categories cannot be linked to menu in joomla, is it possible to have multiple installations of WP integrated with Joomla and then they be linked individually to menu in jooma. I want to have diff kinds of content and they should appear separately on joomla menu. any other alternative?
2) After subscription, can I use it for my test site too, pls note it has different domain but on same server, everything else is same just that I use it for test purpose, i can provide u both domain names.

Regards

1. Integration of Joomla! categories are coming in the near future.

2. Yes, we just dont support another installation. We only support one installation.

Unless I misunderstood the question I do not think the question about linking to a specific WordPress category was answered. I am trying to do that but have so far not seen a way in Joomla. How woudl one do this, even with the current integration between categories?

Follow these steps:
1. Download the categorials Joomla plugin from our site for WordPress
2. Create a new Joomla section, call it what you want but remember the id for that category
3. Go to WordPress general settings and enter that section id into the option that read section id
4. Create a new WordPress category
5. Go and create a  new menu item on Joomla and find the category with the name that you just created on wordpress
6. Once that link is clicked it will redirect the user to that wordpress category.

Hello,
I followed the above steps exactly but whenever I add a new menu item I can only select from categories not within Wordpress. The plugin "WordPress Category Integration" is installed and active.
Any ideas?

Hi,
So does WP only have the ability to link one section with Joomla? or is it just one category...

You have to link to the category in Joomla, then the plugin redirects the user to the correct category in WordPress.

You need to install the plugin as a Joomla plugin.

Are there update instructions for doing this with WP 3 ??
I looked in my plugin download tab and didn't find the plugin mentioned here.
