Hello,

I have a test sub site with unique website address.  I am able to load pictures in the main page of the Gallery but when I add photos through ADD Photo section, the photos do the transfer of data but then fail to load due to http error.

Looks like it might have been write permissions but turned on all permissions.

Ideas?

Thank you.  But I already read that thread and tried all the suggestions including the update to the .htaccess. None of these suggestions resulted in any change.

The account trying to upload the files is now a member of ALL user groups.
Please note this is a sub site.  And I am using Joomla 1.7

Thanks
Delenn

Looks like it might have been write permissions but turned on all permissions.

If by "all" permissions, you mean you set the permissions to 777, that may cause additional problems because many servers will disallow access to directories with 777 permissions because they are insecure. Make sure /administrator/components/com_jphoto and the directories within it have permissions of 755.

Also, I have seen instances where some people's firewalls will cause this error if they are blocking the flash uploader that is used by JPhoto. If you're using a firewall, you could troubleshoot the issue by disabling it or using another computer not running the software.

If you're still having problems, you can create a ticket using the link in my signature.

Andy,

I did read the previous thread.  I have confirmed and re-verified yet again that the directories are at 755.

Also it has be verified to be a problem on three different computers, three different operating systems, and two user accounts both with and without personal firewalls.

I have Akeeba Admin Tools that has a web firewall on the site itself.

I recommend trying to disable the firewall on the site momentarily for troubleshooting purposes. Also, if your .htaccess file has rules forbidding ("[F]") requests to the /administrator/ or /components/ directory, you can try commenting them out.

As I mentioned earlier, we can look into it if you create a ticket.

I turned off the web firewall.  No change. Same error.

I tried the ticket approach on another topic earlier this year.  I will think I will pass and move onto a different tool.

Appreciate the responses.

Delenn,

If you change your mind, I'm confident we could get it working if we could look into the issue.

I looked up your ticket history and found 3 items but it appears that none of them addressed any JPhoto issues and they all dealt with Wordpress so I suspect we haven't looked into this issue (or you contacted us using a different email address).
