You need to download an .mo file from here:
http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_in_Your_Language
and follow the instructions, this will change the language for your dashboard.

Then you can modify the language of the template by editing the template, not the best solution at this point, but in the future there will be a language file that can be edited.

Hi I have the same question.

As suggested, I copied a 2.7.1 mo file (my wpmu component version is 2.7.1.1)  into the /wp-content/languages directory, and set the WPLANG in wp-config.php. But everything on the site or dashboard is still in English.

And how do I change the template (theme?) settings? Can you give more details on this?

Also, in the blog admin's blog options, there's a "WPLANG" setting that by default is blank. Does this need to be set to the preferred language as well?

  Thanks!

Hi

I have the exact same problem, done the parts you are talking about (except "modify the language of the template by editing the template") and still English.
I don't understand what you mean with - modify the language of the template by editing the template so please elaborate on the issue.

Me too, same problem. Backend is in other language, but frontend (site) does not show up in new language.
BTW it is dutch (nl) language

Do we have to install version 2.8 or 2.9 from Wordpress? corePHP is 2.8.6, can this be a problem?

Please help  us corePHP

I have the same question for french.
I put the .mo file in wp-content/languages, and also in media/wpmu/languages.
I added a .po file
It still doesn't work.
the only think working is my french traduction for the ini file : fr-FR.com_wpmu.ini
I can make this file available for download at corephp against an effective answer from administrator here...  ;D !
