One of the most sought after pieces of functionality missing in Joomla! is the ability to assign access levels and roles to your users. There have been other ACL components released in the past to fill this void, but since they hack the core of Joomla! to a point where it's difficult to upgrade, many shy away from using them. With the new framework Joomla! 1.5 uses we have been able to create a new Access Level Control component that does very little to the core (only hacks menu to hide items). When you are ready to upgrade you simply press a button and it automatically applies the patch needed for the upgrade.

• Allows you to allow or deny access to a specific part or component or variables in the url. You can create a function with multiple access rights to a variety of components.
  

Multi site sync:

• Allows you to synchronize with multiple websites allowing for one master site for your access levels.
