New WordPress Plugins – 02-12

Each night that we’re not releasing new versions of WordPress or out partying (almost never the case … sigh) we’re working to make the plugins that you’ve requested Joomla! compatible.

We released:
– gd-star-rating
– dd-report-comments

Updated Plugins:
– all-in-one-seo-pack
– lightbox-2-wordpress-plugin

I know some of you have been requesting for the subscribe2 plugin. This is next on our list. I gave it a try earlier this week, but ran into some road blocks. Hopefully by the end of this weekend I’ll get it released.

Enjoy!

I’m new to deploying this – and maybe i’ve installed it incorrectly, but when deployed, i have a 2 (or 3) column configuration in Joomla – when adding these plugins, they stay within the main “column” – thus it creates a 4,5, or more column page and narrows the blog content – is this the correct configuration – and then, wouldn’t it be better to not use wordpress plugins and just focus on deploying joomla plugins?

TD, You are probably using he WordPress sidebar that displays within the component, we have 4 module widget sidebars for WordPress, in which you can put as many widgets as you want per sidebar and since it displays within Joomla you are allowed to put the sidebars in any module position on your site. The reason why we need to work on WP plugins is because not all of them work out of the box so this is why we are working on these. Do you have any idea on what plugins you would like for Joomla?

I’ve downloaded the all-in-one-seo-pack fron this corephp site and tried manually installing the plugin on my development site i.e. unzipped the files into a folder i’ve created called ‘all-in-one-seo-pack’ in the ‘/wp-content/plugins/’ folder of the site.

The all-in-one-seo-pack however is not showing up on my WP plugins page.

Can anyone help? Really sorry if I’ve missed something obvious – I’m new to WordPress, Corephp and the plugins.

Many thanks in advance for any assistance

      realsense,
Try uploading the plugin to this directory:
      /images/wordpress/plugins/

The reason there is a wordpress plugin in the images folder is because when you go to upgrade in the future, Joomla won’t uninstall your plugins, themes and media from your site.

    Brilliant – that’s worked !

…And thank you for such a swift response – That has done the job perfectly.

Loving this site, CorePHP WP and the plugins !

    Many thanks
