WordPress 4 Joomla! 2.7 – Right around the corner

It’s right around the corner! Hopefully in the next day or two the new version will be out and ready.

There are still a few things to fix and a few features that might make the cut.

New Features:

– Integration with Joomla! categories
– Custom URLs – aka Permalinks (complete control)
– Importing/Exporting – importing from myBlog will be available
– Multi-file upload – aka Flash uploader

Bug Fixes:

– All URLs now have an Itemid
– Better support for all URL query strings for SEF URLs
– XML-RPC – login against Joomla!’s user password hash
– A more stable installation
– RSS Feed URLs liking to proper post
– Google Gears path fixes.

Future Plans:

– Get as many plugins working within Joomla! as humanly possible!
– Work on WordPress MU 2.7

What would you like to see in the future for this extension?

I’m new to Joomla!, but I’ve been working with WordPress for about a year. I’m really excited about what you’re doing, merging the two.

(when it’s done) will the pairing of Joomla+WP only be available for your WordPress subscribers?

(do you ever plan to release this for free, to allow the two to gain traction together, and thus, replace both their parents? )

    Very exciting.

It’s done! I’m uploading the new version to the server as we speak. This version is available to WordPress subscribers, who have a valid membership.

It is getting lots of attraction as it is, since its such a time consuming process to make this integration as seamless as we have, plus all the support that goes into it, its hard to put all of that time for free – as of right now there is no plan of making this free of subscription.

Hope you like the new version!
